The COVID-19 pandemic, online meetings and reduced social interaction all created the need for offices to become connected again. This toolkit aims to combat this problem and help employees get back together again. Designed for teams seeking to enhance their social engagement, the PWFN (prompt writing for newcomers) Toolkit serves as a beacon, guiding employees through an interactive process of understanding and creating AI prompts. The PWFN toolkit consists of three sets of cards that explain and walk you through a different prompt writing process. The first set walks you through a systematic process, the second set guides you via a visual process and the third set provides an iterative approach
In recent years more and more organizations are becoming aware of the fact that it is not only important to have healthy employees but that the engagement and social interaction of employees is also an important aspect of office vitality. The satisfaction and wellbeing of the office workers linked to this, not only influences personal vitality but can also negatively influence productivity if lacking. Social interaction and engagement between office workers leads to a more friend-like relationship between employees. This friend-like relationship leads to an decrease in office related stress and can even reduce depression.
Increasing social interaction and engagement between people is a well-researched topic in the design space. Through a personal interest in artificial intelligence, I decided to design a way in which people in the office environment could get familiar with AI and learn about prompt writing. I investigated how learning about a new technology such as AI and prompt writing could lead to engaging and interactive learning sessions with fellow colleagues, which could result in better workplace vitality. Furthermore, I looked at three different processes for prompt writing to gather valuable insights into the most effective and engaging ways to teach people the process of prompt writing. AI is a relatively new technology and has not yet been researched extensively. Hence, I believe the impact of this study could help further researchers with their work on AI.
For this project, I have created the ‘’PFWN (prompt writing for newcomers) toolkit‘’ used to perform a research through design study. This is done to study how the introduction to prompt writing and artificial intelligence in an office environment can foster a sense of social interaction and engagement. The PWFN toolkit consists of three sets of cards that explain and walk you through a different prompt writing process.
